Ploom #076
Dandelion
Michael Finney
A child reaches a hand to the grass
picks a puff of seeds
draws it to their lips
and blows.
We scatter on the breeze
as dandelion milk stickies a hand.
The stalk is cast away. The year turns.
When we have settled,
the child reaches again
with a secret smile
picks another dandelion puff
and blows.
